The Bible tells us that everything we have comes from God (Psalm 24:1). We are to use his good gifts in ways that honour him. That should include giving, as a grateful response to the generosity of God shown most of all in the death of his Son. In 2 Corinthians 8:9, Paul writes: “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.” And in 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, Paul speaks about giving intentionally, generously and cheerfully: “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
To assist in your decisions as the end of the tax year approaches, we would like to remind you that it is possible to give tax-deductibly to the St Augustine’s Building for the Kingdom appeal.
The full details for the St Augustine’s tax deductible account are:
- Account Name: Neutral Bay Anglican Parish Donation Fund
- BSB: 704-998
- Account: 100010293
- Description: Building for the Kingdom
Please keep in mind that you must specifically note this preference for the Building for the Kingdom appeal on any money gifted via the tax deductible account. This is because our proposed redevelopment has yet to receive final approval from you, our church family, meaning that the Wardens have not, and will not, use any tax deductible gifts to fund related costs except where this has been specifically requested by a donor. In the event that our proposed redevelopment does not proceed, the Wardens will contact anyone who has made donations and arrange for it to be returned or redirected to another gospel use of that donor’s choosing.
We ask you to please prayerfully consider these matters and the Wardens remain delighted to answer any questions that you may have in relation to this, or any other, issue pertaining to the finances or property of St Augustine’s.
