Who Are We?
A Christian Church. An association of people who believe that Jesus is the Son of God who became man. He therefore revealed God in a unique way, and died on a cross to make a sacrifice that was acceptable to God as sufficient punishment for the sins of all people. He came back to life, and now awaits the time to come again and take all Christians to be with him for ever. We believe that salvation is only available through repentance and trust in Jesus as Saviour, and a willingness to follow his ways.
An Evangelical Church. We hold that the Bible is the Word of God – the way that truth about God is communicated by him to us. Therefore it is reliable and to be preached, believed, and obeyed by Christians. It stands above Christian traditions and human reason, and must inform and correct them.
An Anglican Church. We are associated with a number of other Christian churches who have similar faith and traditions, and a prescribed method of church leadership. The Anglican denomination has an excellent statement of faith (based on the Bible) called The Thirty-Nine Articles.
A Church with a vision. Our vision statement is: To know Christ, and to make him known. We endeavour to judge our life and activities by this statement. We encourage all Christians to live by the same vision.
What is our goal with you? To help you grow in your relationship with Jesus, whether you are simply curious, just beginning as a Christian or if you’ve been a follower of Jesus for years. We would love to have you join our church family and experience all the joys and benefits that it brings. We believe that Christian ministry is for all believers, so we aim to help those in our church discover what they are good at and build them up in those areas; and because Neutral Bay is a transitory area, we expect many people to move on after a few years and we want to send them to their new local church with our blessing, having benefitted as much as possible from their time with us.
